TOTALLY GET IT.
For the first year of marriage, I still went by my maiden name at work…because, well “Rust”. That’s just something that happens for your bike when you leave it out in the rain. Ha!
My driver’s license is hyphenated even though it’s not supposed to me…just never corrected them and it’s 20 years later. I eventually changed my name to my married name and dropped by maiden.
Yes, it’s hard to let go. Even now, I keep “T” as a middle initial, even though it’s the initial to my maiden name I no longer have.
